Example 5 (CB-04)

Battery Cluster Example providing 48V DC (regulated) for powering a large system

Features
  • Battery clusters allow you to scale the power of a battery system while scaling the power output and capacity and keeping the charge time constant to ~3.5 hours for a full charge.
  • Li-ion battery packs provide the highest power density for a given weight of any commercial technology.
  • Our Li-ion packs have integrated safety circuits and fuel gauges. These manage the safety policy and won’t allow unsafe operation. They protect against over charge, over discharge, under / over temp discharge and pause charging when the pack temp is too high, etc.
  • The system can be packaged in instruments, equipment or robots that need the lightest highest density power possible with quick recharge times and high safety.
  • Li-ion packs don’t release dangerous gasses as do older battery technology.
  • The controllers provide RS232 ASCII data about the system power consumption and the run time to empty or full. The detailed status of every battery pack in the system is available via this data stream.
  • Typical applications: AUV/ UUV Power source, Robot power source, portable instruments for field use, portable medical equipment such as X-Ray machines..
